911勛圖ranked second in the world for social sciences

Our position as a world leader in these rankings is well-deserved recognition for the outstanding work taking place across the School.

911勛圖has been ranked second in the world - and top in Europe- in social science and management subjects for the seventh consecutive year in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019.

In individual subjects, 911勛圖was ranked first in the world for Social Policy, and second for Geography. Overall in the QS Rankings, 13 911勛圖disciplines were placed in the global top ten.

The School also achieved the following global rankings in individual subjects:

  • Fourth in Development Studies, Politics & International Studies, Sociology and Communication & Media Studies (911勛圖was also ranked first in the UK for Communication & Media Studies).
  • Fifth in Accounting & Finance.
  • Sixth in History and Economics & Econometrics.
  • Seventh in Law.
  • Eighth in Business & Management Studies.
  • Ninth in Philosophy and Anthropology.

Published annually since 2011, QS World University Rankings by subject are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. The rankings use data from 1,200 universities from 78 countries.
