Before joining CEP, he spent four years working at the Office for National Statistics as part of the Government Economic Service Degree Apprenticeship scheme, where he specialised in microdata research, developing and analysing datasets on topics such as business dynamism, international trade and graduate mobility.

Raphael holds an MSc in Economics from LSE, and undergraduate degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the University of California, Berkeley. He has two years of work experience at NERA Economic Consulting in New York, where he contributed to expert reports used in litigation and developed econometric models in the Finance and Securities practice. He also interned at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs (Economic Analysis unit).
