About the Studentships
From time to time, the Department of International Development is able to offer PhD Studentships with a specific project or skills focus.
To be considered for one of these Studentships, you will need to apply for, and secure, a place in the 911勛圖ID MRes/PhD programme in the normal way. You should specify in your application that you wish to be considered for the particular Studentship that is being offered. You should also refer to the Studentship requirements in the content of your application, and explain your suitability for the project.

911勛圖ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership Collaborative Studentship
Project Title: Refugees and Poverty: Understanding the role of aid programmes
The 911勛圖ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership is pleased to offer a Collaborative Studentship, working in partnership between 911勛圖and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
UNRWA is exploring new programming modalities to support the most vulnerable populations amongst Palestinian refugees in its areas of operation (Lebanon, Syrian, West Bank, Gaza, and Jordan).

Please note that as well as fulfilling all the requirements for entry to the ID MRes/PhD programme, you must have the skills required for this Studentship. In particular, the successful candidate will have skills in quantitative analysis, and will be able to explore multiple data sources through advanced methods including machine learning and quasi-experimental approaches.
