Harriet has worked for the British Government Legal Department for 22 years, principally in the Treasury, the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Business and Trade. She did her law degree at the University of Toronto and her training contract at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has drafted legislation, taken bills through Parliament and advised on statutory interpretation in litigation from tribunals to apex courts, including in the UK Supreme Court, the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
