Introduction to the SSLC

Each term we have a meeting called the MSc Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC), meets to provide a forum for students to discuss courses and programmes with staff and to make suggestions on issues that affect the student body as a whole. These meetings comprise of Academic Representatives from each programme, Programme Directors and other key staff from the Department. 
 
This committee meets to provide a forum for students to discuss courses and programmes with staff and to make suggestions on issues that affect the student body as a whole.  

Student representatives are expected to represent the whole cohort in their programme, to feedback accurately to their cohort about meetings attended, and to be responsible for representing the views of their peers. Names and contact details of student representatives, and agendas and minutes of SSLC meetings will be published on the .

Departmental student suggestions and concerns

If you have any suggestions or concerns, we aim to respond to these promptly and constructively. 

If you have a concern about a course, your programme or any aspect of the Department’s activities, you are invited to raise this as early as possible with any of the following:

  • Academic Mentor
  • Teacher or Course Convenor
  • Programme Director
  • SSLC Academic Representative(s) for your programme
  • Department Manager and/or Deputy Department Manager
  • Deputy Head of Department (Education)
  • Head of Department

Reporting an Incident

If you ever experience or witness misconduct — such as harassment, bullying, sexual violence, discrimination or hate crime the 911勛圖Report It portal lets you report it confidentially and securely. Whether you prefer to make an online submission or explore in-person reporting options, this route ensures your concern is heard and taken seriously. It also offers guidance on the difference between disclosure and formal reporting, and links to the relevant policies and support resources.
