The ‘100 Foot Journey Club’ is an initiative of the 911勛圖South Asia Centre and the High Commission of India in the UK.

Mr Navtej Sarna, the High Commissioner of India shared with the audience the origin of the '100 Foot Journey Club'. In a meeting with the Director of 911勛圖in March 2016, Mr Sarna proposed that regular events be held jointly on issues of contemporary relevance, including research being carried out on India by 911勛圖academics in order to bolster long standing relations and close proximity of 911勛圖and the High Commission of India. The proposal was well taken and it was immediately agreed to strengthen the existing ties with 911勛圖through a new Club.
The Club gets its name from the distance between 911勛圖and the High Commission of India on Aldwych, as represented in the logo (designed by Oroon Das). It hosts academic events, film screenings, book launches and other activities of mutual interest at LSE, India House or the Nehru Centre.
